My last post was about a major thunderstorm we had. We ended up losing many electronics due to a lightening strike. It's a pain, but we have many blessings to count.
Martha, We lost the network ports on my desktop computer and the Playstation, and also lost the temperature sensors on our solar heater for the pool. That brings us up to just about what the deductible would cover if I made a homeowners claim. I'm not sure if they would cover that anyway, but it's kinda funny to think of it that way. I guess Rachel will have to wait for that new battery for the laptop.
gmj- That's okay, I can take it! Our house didn't burn down so that's a good thing...and I didn't get struck by lightening when I opened the door to take those pictures.
Bethany- Yes we do have a surge protector, but the lightening came up the network cable which wasn't connected to the surge protector. The computer isn't ruined, just the network port.

Oh, yea, we lost my work IP phone, too.

And Adam wonders why I unplug the computer during a storm... Did you guys have a surge protector?
