Tonight I broke down and decided to get some of Michael's school supplies. I am pretty confident that I didn't buy anything that he doesn't really need, but he did insist he needed a sharpie and when I asked what for he said, "To sign yearbooks". This made me laugh, although I don't think he intended it to. I didn't buy one. The lead in the picture is not for the nonrefillable lead pencils shown, but for their good ones here at home. Michael won't take his good one to school because he always manages to lose it. Somehow he doesn't lose the cheap ones. ??

School supplies always make me feel happy. Remember how nice it was to have fresh new things for school? The feeling didn't last for long though...
I think he defintly needs a sharpie.
Tracy is right, new school supplies always made me feel happy too. That is why every year I have to buy some new crayons even though my kids don't use them much anymore and the ones I bought three years ago are probably still pointy.
Does that cookie making boy ever wear clothes?
No they're not. And I use them when the weather is dumb.
Well, it's good to know they aren't going to waste. This year I bought markers instead. Will you use them?
Ummm, no prolly not.
Then I have a good excuse to buy more crayons.
Martha- Steven rarely has a shirt on here.
I love school supplies! And I'm with Allen, I think he needs a sharpie, too. Sharpies are so handy for so many things. Not just signing yearbooks:)
Rachel, do update us when you finally break down to the pressure and buy him a Sharpie... :o)
Tracy- We have some sharpies floating around the house he can use. I really don't think that he will NEED a sharpie. :)
See, Mom? EVERYONE needs a sharpie!
... And I TOLD you there were more reasons to buy a sharpie.
Yes, but you never gave me any of the other reasons.
Okay, 5 more reasons to get a new sharpie...
1. The sharpies that we have are OLD sharpies.
2. When you think people are being doofuses you can draw barfing faces and nuclear explosions on their pencil cases.
3. Sharpies write darker than pens or pencils, so you can write your name at the top of your paper and then flip the paper over and write your name backwards on the other side.
4. Green, blue, red, and black are boring colors. The one I wanted was orange.
5. ART!!
There, Mom. HA!!
I rest my case! :)
What? Those are wonderful reasons.
Oh for pete's sake...buy the kid an orange sharpie!!!!!!!
Those sharpies are not new. And they're not orange.
PS: I'll be looking for that orange sharpie at the picnic tomorrow, Aunt Priscilla. :)
Will someone please buy me the G.I. Joe that I never got as a kid... Also, I want Lucky Charms for breakfast every morning...and, and, and, caaaandy whenever I want it. C'mon, people, the kid is not lacking for things. It's ok to not get him the orange sharpie.
P.S. - My guess is that he'll cry to grandma and she'll get it for him. Mark my words.
Poor, poor me... "Nobody loves me, everybody hates me..." <-(singing)
And I'm NOT going to go crying to Grandma.
