Snowy Day

This morning we woke up to lots of fresh snow on the ground. It was snowing pretty hard and I wondered if church might be cancelled, but couldn't find any evidence that it was, so off we went. There was church, although not nearly as many people were there today as there usually are. As soon as we got home Dave got to work snow blowing our driveway.
I feel like cooking something really yummy today. I think I'll try something new! Now, off to find a recipe...

So, what did you make on this cold snowy afternoon?

Soup! I vote for Soup, steamy beef barley sounds good, or chili if you must. Corn bread to go with it. Okay, now I am off to the kitchen.

Soup or chili sound great, but I wanted to try a new recipe, so I made taco stuffed pasta shells. They were large pasta shells stuffed with a mixture of beef, cream cheese, and chili powder (bake for 15 min @ 350 degrees). Then you take them out and sprinkle crushed Tortilla chips over the top and then a mixture of Monterey Jack and Cheddar cheeses over that. Bake for about 10 more min. Then serve with sour cream. Steven, Michael, and I also had black beans on ours.

Yum. Sounds good. Italian with a Mexican flair to it. Audra and Jamie stayed home from church. Just me and Allen went from out house. Alicia stayed at a friends and went to church with them.

I've never made taco soup, Christine. I'll have to try that.
