As I recall, we didn't intend to get wet but the waves were just too much fun. Before I knew it my pantlegs were wet and pretty soon I was sitting in the surf! (The worst part was the makeshift changing room that Mom and Dad rigged up so we could change into something dry.)
This was the beach at Kennebunkport, Maine. Do you think the Bush family could have been watching?
Martha- I was going to say something about the makeshift changing room, but decided against it. Now that you brought it up... To those of you who don't know the story, our parents didn't want us getting back into our vehicle soaking wet so they held up a tarp around us (next to our vehicle)and we quickly changed inside of it. It's so crazy, it's funny. We were all very embarrassed.

Arn't you glad your parents taught you modesty! Sounds like you had many happy vacations as a family. Thanks for sharing them.
We did own bathing suits, just didn't think we were going to get wet...
Yep! I remember that changing room they rigged up. I was sure everyone could see me! LOL!
Cute! I remember twisting the front of my shirt like that when I was a kid.
