Back to normal

This is the mansion at Three Springs, where Steven and Michael went on their retreat. I think Steven slept here, while Michael slept in a cabin. There is quite a bit of land here where they ride horses and go mountain biking. We got our boys back at 3:00pm on Sunday. They had a great time, beautiful weather, and had many stories to tell. Michael said they had about 7 Bible studies while they were there, which he didn't seem to mind. I think they're already looking forward to the winter retreat, but they both say they're still not ready to be gone to camp for a whole week in the summer. It's been nice having them back. The house has been filled with lots of activity and noise again.
It looks like this year we get a longer summer which is kinda nice. Yesterday's high was 92 degrees. That's very unusual for the end of September here. In the middle of the night we had quite the loud thunderstorm. Poor Dave was awake for 2 hours afterward...just couldn't get back to sleep. Today he had to travel to Ithaca. I hope he has a good day!

We woke up to the thunder too. Not only was it thundering but the rain was blowing in the window above our heads. I kept thinking about Jim and that kept me awake.

Rachel, thank you for letting us know how the retreat went. What a beautiful mansion.

Martha, was Jimmy driving straight through?

I had to get up and shut our windows, but the rain wasn't coming in yet.
I was thinking about Jim too. He has a cell phone, right? Have you talked to him at all?

Jim's plan was to drive as far as Chicago (about 10 hours) and stay with a college friend there. God put that connection together in a rather interesting way. Then he will go on to Minnesota (about another 7 hours).

No Rachel, I haven't heard from him. I'm sure he will give us a call sometime after he gets to Dan's house.

That looks like a great house for a 'bible camp'.

What a beautiful place. I'm curious to know what the cabin looked like.

yes, Beautiful mansion for a post labeled "back to normal" :) I'm with MS P., what did the cabin look like?

Michael says they looked like "little houses with a kitchen, living room, and three bedrooms. One of the bedrooms was small and then the other two were large. He said the upstairs was carpeted. There were about 10 people that stayed in his cabin.
